Product Info
A luscious fig accord blurring the line between masculinity and femininity — Lavallière is a refined, graceful tribute to YSL’s most iconic accessory, and to the most fluid of attitudes. Composed by master perfumer Annick Menardo, it is subtly and elegantly subversive.
Sparkling, green and mordant notes introduce the starring fig accord: rich and honeyed like the creamy crimson flesh of the fruit, verdant and raspy like the leaf, underscored by woody facets. At its heart, the fig melds with the radiant, dew-pearled Damascena Rose — a vivid blend of rose essence and rose water — balanced by geranium, a verdant aromatic with rose, mint and litchi aspects.
The Inspiration
Named after the Duchess of La Vallière, Louis XIV’s most stylish favourite, the lavallière bow was originally born from the masculine jabot — a gender-fluid accessory by its very nature. Yves Saint Laurent, who played on androgyny like a virtuoso, plucked the silky cravat from the wardrobes of dandies and bohemians to make it one of his most iconic signatures. Effortlessly elegant, playfully indulgent — quintessentially YSL.
